Hampta Pass is a high altitude trek near Manali. This trek is a crossover trek from Kullu valley in Manali crossing over Hampta Pass @ 14000 feet to the barren deserts of Spiti valley. This is a 5-day trek from Manali with an excursion to Chandratal lake. The lake is around 80 km from Chatru which is the last campsite for the trek. This trek is an easy-moderate trek which can be done by beginners as well as seasoned trekkers with a minimum level of fitness and preparedness. This is a summer trek which is open from June to October first week. The best time to do Hampta pass is in June when there is lot of snow. but if you don't like snow and cold weather you can do it between July mid to September when the weather is much pleasant and you get to see a lot of greenery on the trail to Hampta.

The Hampta pass trek is over at Chatru on the 4th day after which you can plan a drive to Chandratal Lake which is around 80km distance.
